Five-Star Rating System to be Replaced

RSSB RISQS remains committed to avoiding changes to the scheme in the first year following transition. We are continuing to assess current operations and planning for improvements to the scheme in its second year.

One enhancement the RISQS team are working on is to replace the scheme’s “five-star rating” feature with a fairer system that better differentiates the maturity of suppliers.

Because of this change to the present system, which currently provides five-star organisations with reduced audit requirements every other year, such reductions will cease to operate in August 2019.

Damon Snell, interim RSSB Head of Supplier Assurance, said: “The existing system doesn’t meet our aim of differentiating suppliers that go above and beyond compliance, so we will shortly be consulting members to hear their views on building a more representative process for demonstrating members’ leadership and maturity.”

Until the close of the current maturity rating system, suppliers will still receive a reduced audit if they maintain five stars and meet the other scheme requirements.
